Building a strong alliance takes a lot of work, and the entire team has to be behind making that happen... If you are starting a new alliance or part of a growing one, try following these rules and you will soon grow to be one of the strongest alliance on Marvel Contest of Champions.
Rules for Alliance Members
1) Have a chat group for your team mates - Every strong alliance needs good communication, and the in-game chat is not the best place to communicate with your team mates efficiently. You can build a group on a social platform like KiK, Facebook Messenger or Hangouts to stay in touch with your team mates.
2) Save your crystals do not open them as you get them - There are two main crystal events on Contest of Champions - The Draw Duplicates on Tuesdays and Crystal Crush on Saturdays... Only open green and blue during Crystal Rush, save all other (hero) crystals for Tuesday's Draw Duplicates event which awards a 3* hero to the entire team.
Check out our guide on which champions each crystal offers
3) How to win at Duels - The Duel Skirmish event takes place on Thursdays, and a good alliance member should contribute at least 600 points during the event (300 x 2). In order to get this score, you will have to beat a gold opponent 10 times... Find a gold opponent who your own champion has a class bonus over, and the duel is easily beatable.
4) Rank Up on Sundays - You cant have a strong team without ranking up your heroes... Rank ups are when you use catalysts not ISOs (which is leveling up)... Save your ranking up for Sunday's Rank up event and help your alliance win prizes.

5) Draw Duplicates on Tuesdays - No one wants a duplicate hero, but why not take advantage of that and help your entire alliance win a 3*... Save all your hero crystals you earn until Tuesday and let the odds award you if you get that dreaded duplicate.
6) Helping your Alliance - Keep an eye on the Help tab under Alliance when you are on the game, your team mates can request help during their arenas and ask you for energy... You can earn up to 1000 points per day by helping your alliance. These points can be cashed in for Alliance crystals... Be courteous and help your team mates even after you have reached your daily quota, and they will pay you back when you need help.
How to play the game, while helping your alliance
Contest of Champions has three main components - Story, Events and Arenas
Story - This is the primary part of the game, and has no direct link to helping your alliance. New members should focus on this to level up quickly.
#TIP - In order to be a valuable alliance member, you should work on getting yourself to lvl 25 with a 10000 hero rating... The Story mode is the best way to achieve this quickly.
Arenas - There are currently various types of arenas, but the 3vs3 areas are the most important. Here you can earn unique 3* and 4* heroes. Participation in these arenas is a great way to help your alliance during special events.
3* Arena
This arena allows you to take in only 2* heroes... You should try and rank up your heroes to level 30, before you can stack up high scores quickly. Until then focus on ranking up teams of three.

Rules for Alliance Leaders and Officers
1) Beware the dreaded drive-by - The worst thing that can happen is accepting a player who just wants in for the free rewards... The game is a lot of work, and crafty players may want to join your growing alliance so they can steal the rewards you have worked hard to earn... Daily alliance events allows all members to collect rewards, irrelevant of they contribution.
#TIP Make sure you don't accept new players until your event has ended, so they can give 100% toward the next event...
2) Muscle - Powerful players make any alliance stronger. They contribute to almost every event, and bring in a lot of points... Most players on Lvl 25 and higher with over 10k points are considered powerful players and are expected to play an active role in alliance events.
3) Grinders - No one starts the game as a powerful player... Contest of Champions is hard work if you don't have money to spend on the game... A daily player who has around 300k and is on lvl 15 is a good candidate for a growing alliance and can quickly become a powerful contributor.
4) Weak Players - This is by far the worst type of player in the game... If a player is stagnant and not moving up the ranks, they will likely never contribute or help the alliance progress... Ideally an alliance should give a new player a trial period, during which they will be accessed. Weak players should ideally be removed within a week based on their alliance contribution... If you come across a proper grinder, they will eventually become your teams strongest muscle.
5) Spenders - Spenders can fall under any of the above player types... Every alliance loves spenders, as they will push teams past the goals with ease...
